Our trip south lead us through some more great scenery. I will attach some pictures but they really do not do justice to the beauty of creation around us. Because of all the moisture, the landscape is very lush and green. We are in Stewart,BC. There is a town called Hyder, AK right next door. We heard that its the only US city that is only accessible by going through Canada. It does not even have immigration or customs on the way over. You do have a checkpoint on the way back though, because you have to come back on the same road. FYI,, the town is located at the very bottom of Alaska's panhandle. The citizens use Canadian money and send their kids to Canadian schools. Only the Post Office takes US currency. Its a generally rundown small town with dirt streets. A campground, hotel, restaurant, and general store are about it.
Well, we missed the rain here. We were told it rained all night and day yesterday, so I guess our timing is getting better. It is cloudy but not raining. Wish us luck today as we explore Hyder, AK. Here are some pics from yesterday.
